Measuring person-centred care
The Health Foundation have produced a useful guide – Person-centred care made simple. It aims to make a complex subject accessible to a much wider audience, and in particular those for whom this is a new area. It is a quick overview of the principles of person-centred care, why it is important, how it has developed, and some examples to help those considering putting person-centred care in to practice. There’s also a related publication – Helping measure person-centred care, a rapid review of the commonly used approaches and tools – and a ‘thought paper’ Measuring what really matters, which considers what’s needed to move towards a coherent measurement system to support person-centred care.
